About Jess

Hi, I’m Jess!

I’ve been practicing yoga for around 10 years and teaching for 4 and a half. My mission is to help people move their bodies in a way that will optimise their movement ability for every day life. We all know that movement is medicine, and finding a way to move that you love is the best approach! This is why my teaching and my practice has changed a lot over the years as I continue to practice in a way that I enjoy and as I learn more about the body I want to teach what I believe is the most beneficial to you! I like to encourage my students to be inquisitive with their practice and listen to their body.

My teaching style is heavily anatomy focused, for the physical aspect. But I believe the mental benefits of such practice are even stronger, taking time out of your day or week to practice in a way that gives you space to breath, to move with your breath, to tune into how you’re feeling and let go of what’s been building up in your mind… And to have fun whilst you do so!

I have training in many styles of yoga including Ashtanga Vinyasa, Yin Yoga, Mandala Vinyasa and Movement Mapping methodology. I like to include a mix of movement disciplines into my classes with my overall focus being functional movement.

If I’m not on my mat you’ll most likely find me outdoors and in nature. I love to climb, hike and wild swim at all opportunities, and this love for nature and the planet leads me to living as much of an eco-conscious lifestyle as possible. One of my passions is to promote sustainable living and earth friendly practices.

In 2022 I joined the Gutsy Girls team of Leaders, taking groups of like-minded women on adventure retreats around the UK and Europe, Gutsy Girls ethos (which is unsurprisingly similar to mine), is to create a welcoming and encouraging environment to promote confidence and empowerment in the community. I LOVE to encourage the women who attend our trips, to step out of their comfort zone, to try something new, to believe in themselves and to meet new friends along the way! If you’re interested in these trips, visit Gutsy Girls website or my Instagram for photos and videos of past trips!
